UniversiTest offers two delivery modes:

• Live Synchronous (Proctored): The teacher controls the flow of the session. All students start together, while the teacher's dashboard monitors connectivity and receives instant security and cheating alerts in real time.
• Homework / Link-Based: Students complete the exam independently within an access window set by the teacher (e.g., 24 hours) via a direct URL link.

When you click to launch an exam from your dashboard, UniversiTest opens an intermediate Session Settings page. This allows you to tailor the rules, security level, and delivery format of that specific exam session before students enter:

• Participant Identification: Choose whether anyone with the code/link can enter by typing their name, or select "Use a Class Roster" so students must select their name from a pre-configured class list.
• Audio Settings (for listening tests): Choose whether students can replay attached audio tracks multiple times or listen only once.
• Question & Option Order: Toggle between Fixed order (predefined question order) and Shuffled order (unique, randomized question order per student). You can also toggle fixed option letters (A, B, C...) or shuffle multiple-choice options.
• Post-Session Privacy & Results: Decide whether students see their score immediately upon completion or wait until the session ends. You can also enable "Hide answer review" to prevent students from viewing correct answers, ensuring exam content is not leaked to other classes.
• AI Features: Activate automated AI Grading for Open-Ended Questions or enable post-exam AI Mentor Feedback (requires a Class Roster and an active AI Mentor plan).
• Exam Delivery Mode: Finalize whether the exam runs as a Live Synchronous proctored session or as a Homework / Link exam.

UniversiTest provides four distinct methods to generate and import questions with AI:

1. By Topic or Phrase: Enter a subject or concept (e.g., "Chemical Reactions", "World War II") and select the desired difficulty level.
2. From Course Material: Paste lecture notes, textbook excerpts, or custom lesson text.
3. Bulk Import from Word: Copy questions from a Microsoft Word document and paste them into the bulk import area for instant formatting.
4. Direct PDF Import: Upload an existing PDF exam document directly to automatically extract and populate test questions.

Yes. UniversiTest fully supports audio-based questions, making it ideal for language teachers (ESL/EFL), phonetics, music theory, and audio comprehension exams:

• How to enable audio: Check the "Enable Audio Questions" option when creating a new test (or turn it on later by editing the test settings). Once enabled, an audio upload field will appear in the question editor, allowing you to attach audio files directly to individual questions.
• Playback controls: When launching the exam session, teachers can configure playback restrictions under Audio Settings. You can choose to "Allow Multiple Audio Replays" for standard practice or leave it unchecked to enforce Strict Mode, restricting students to listening to the audio track only once.

UniversiTest supports four question types:

• Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) with 2 to 5 options.
• Open-Ended (written response) questions.
• True / False questions.
• Ordering / Sequence questions.

The platform provides a comprehensive security suite:

• Full-Screen Enforcement: Students must remain in full-screen mode throughout the exam.
• Focus-Loss Detection: The system detects when a student unfocuses the exam tab, opens another browser window, or switches applications.
• Real-Time Teacher Alerts: Any focus loss is flagged on the teacher's live dashboard as it occurs.
• Question and Option Shuffling: Questions and multiple-choice answer options are randomized independently for every student.
• Session Event Log: All security warnings, timestamps, and irregularities are logged for post-exam review.

Yes. With Paper Exam Mode, teachers can directly print the exam to paper, save/print it as a PDF, or download it as an editable Microsoft Word (.docx) file. Two versions are available:

• Student Mode: A clean, printable test paper ready for students to complete by hand.
• Teacher Mode (Answer Key): The complete exam paper with the correct answers clearly marked for fast grading.

After an exam concludes, the teacher gains access to a comprehensive exam report in their dashboard:

• Student-by-Student Analysis: View individual student scores, total completion times, question-level responses, and recorded anti-cheating event alerts.
• Question-by-Question Analysis: Inspect each question individually alongside its success percentage (showing exactly what percentage of participants answered that question correctly). This allows teachers to identify misunderstood topics or tricky questions at a single glance.
• Exam History Data: All completed exam results, scores, and analytics are permanently preserved in the system as historical session data, allowing teachers to review past performance and trends whenever needed.

This feature turns test mistakes into a structured remediation workflow:

1. Creating Topics: The teacher creates topics in their dashboard, giving each topic a title along with a YouTube video lesson link, a short explanatory instruction, or both.
2. Tagging Questions: When adding questions to an exam, the teacher tags each question with its relevant topic.
3. Targeted Review for Students: If a student answers a tagged question incorrectly, that topic's video lesson and explanatory text automatically appear in their personal student portal.
4. Task Completion: After studying the material, the student clicks "I learned this topic" to mark the task as complete.
5. Teacher Oversight: The teacher can verify directly on their dashboard which students have completed their remediation tasks.

The Student AI Mentor is an automated diagnostic and study advisory tool (available on the AI Mentor plan). It is not a live chat assistant, as students learn their subjects directly from their teachers. Instead, it functions as an individualized post-exam academic guide:

• The teacher activates the AI Mentor feature when launching an exam session.
• After the exam, the student clicks a button in their portal to generate their personalized guidance.
• The AI analyzes the student's performance across current and past exam history, pinpoints specific conceptual weaknesses, and generates clear, concise study recommendations.
• Teachers can review the exact recommendations generated for each student by clicking the AI report button on the student's progress page.

Yes. Educational institutions, universities, private courses, and tutoring centers can purchase bulk teacher licenses through our Enterprise subscription plan. School licenses start from a minimum of 10 teachers. All teachers added by the administrator automatically inherit the features and quotas of the purchased subscription tier without needing individual billing.

During registration on the sign-up page, simply check the box "I am a school administrator". This creates an administrative management account.

Note: Administrator accounts are designed strictly for organizational management. Admins manage licenses, teachers, classes, and students, but cannot create or launch exams directly. Test creation and exam administration are handled by the teachers added to your organization.

Yes. UniversiTest includes a built-in Teacher Substitution feature for administrators. If a teacher leaves your institution, the administrator can replace them with a new incoming teacher in the admin dashboard:

• The replacement teacher immediately takes over the license seat.
• The new teacher inherits all existing tests created by the previous teacher (provided the departing teacher did not delete them).
• Historical exam data and student score records are permanently preserved by the system, ensuring complete academic continuity for the school across academic years.

Yes. Administrators can create centralized classes and populate student rosters on behalf of the entire institution. Teachers in the organization can then use these shared rosters for their exams, keeping class management consistent across departments.
